הר קזבגי (5,047 מ') הוא הגבוה בגרוזיה.
הר אלברוז (5,642 מ') הוא הגבוה בהרי הקווקז, נמצא ברוסיה.
הטיפוס כולל טיפוס סביב הפסגות לאקלום ולינה בצריפי הרים.

תכנית מצורפת בהמשך.

הטיפס כולל שימוש בציוד הליכה על קרחונים, קרמפונס, גרזן קרח וכו' המסופק ע"י החברה הרוסית.

פירוט התכנית:
31 JUL. Flight TGZ696 Tel-Aviv – Tbilisi. Departure at 22:15.

1 AUG. Arrival in Tbilisi at 01:50. Transfer to the hotel in Tbilisi to sleep. After breakfast (at around 9am) drive to the northern part of the Great Caucasus along Aragvi river and then cross the Jvari Pass (2380m) to a small town of Kazbegi and then village Gergeti (1750m. 4hrs driving). From here we start our trek to the campsite. We gain altitude walking up alpine pastures, enjoy wonderful views of the Trinity Church. Crossing the Sabertse Pass at 3150 metres walk down to our campsite at 2950m (about 4-5 hours walking).

2 AUG. Walk up moraines to the Gergeti Glacier. Crossing the glacier get to the mauntain hut (former Meteorological station) at 3675m. About 4hrs walking from the campsite.

3 AUG. Acclimatisation day. We go to the Gergeti Glacier for practicing in using of crampons and self-arrest. If the weather conditions are good, we will climb Mount Ortsveri (4365m, 4-5hrs walking from the hut). Descend to the hut Return to the hut.

4 AUG. Climb Mount Kazbek 5047m (7-8hrs walking up). The summit of provides fantastic views of the Caucasian Mountains, including Mt. Elbrus in far distance. Descend to the hut.

5 AUG. Spare day to attempt Kazbek if the weather on the day 5 was bad. (If the group successfully climbed the top on the day before and the spare day was not necessary it is possible to descend to Kazbegi town, drive back to Tbilisi on this day and stay at the hotel).

6 AUG. After breakfast we walk down to Kazbegi (3-4h). Here we will meet our transport and drive to the airport in Tbilisi. Flight Tbilisi –Mineralnye Vody, dep at 17:50, arr at 19:10. Arrive in Mineralnye vody - on the plains north of the Caucasus. 3-3,5 hours drive by private bus to the hotel in the Baksan Valley, near Elbrus at 2100m.

7 AUG. Short drive from the hotel to Azau cable car station, We take the cable car/chair lift system up Elbrus slopes to the Garabashi Huts at 3800m. 1,5 hrs walking up to the Diesel Hut at 4150m where we will be based.

8 AUG. Acclimatisation walk to Pastukhova Rocks (4800m. 3 hours walking up). Return to the hut.

9 AUG. We begin in the small hours of the morning for the ascent to the highest of Elbrus' twin peaks - the West Summit (5642m. 8-9 hours walking from the Diesel hut). You carry your day pack with the day's requirements. We return to spend the night in the mountain hut.

10 and 11 AUG. Two spare days to climb Elbrus if case of the bad weather on the previous day. (If the group successfully climbed the top on the day before and the spare days were not necessary we will descend to the hotel and relax or perhaps enjoy some of the fine walks from the hotel).

12 AUG Return to the hotel.

13 AUG. Drive to Mineralnye Vody. Flight to Tbilisi, dep at 22:00, arr at 23:10. Transfer to the hotel and overnight.

14 AUG. Free time in the morning. After lunch time transfer to the airport for the flight to Tel-Aviv, TGZ695 19:00-20:45. Trip ends

Included:

- All accommodation: 2 nights in Tbilisi at the hotel Kolkhi, 1 night at tents and 4 nights at the mountain hut near Kazbek; 3 nights at the hotel in Elbrus area and 4 nights at the mountain hut on Elbrus; (hotel-based DBL room occupancy, in tents - 2 persons share a tent, at mountain hut-multiply beds);
- 3 daily meals;
- all group transfers as per the itinerary: airport-HTL-airport in Tbilisi, Tbilisi-Kazbegi-Tbilisi;
- An English-speaking mountain guide;
- cook and cooking at the huts;
- Porters to carry group equipment and food up to the hut on Kazbek;
- Group equipment (as tents, ropes, kitchen facilities, gas stoves);
- 1 return run by Elbrus Cable ways;
- National Park and Elbrus climbing permit (on Kazbek not required);
- OVIR registration in Elbrus area (on Kazbek not required);
- Russian visa support documents (for Georgia not required).
